Studies in Healing

Sickness does not come from God, there are however some things you cannot blame the devil for. Some things you must take the credit for. If you never or seldom exercise, or if you overwork, get little sleep, smoke, drink and overeat; and then become ill because of get the credit for that, not the devil. You have just opened the door and invited Satan in. The sickness came from the author of sickness, Satan. But it was you who asked for and got it. He didn't have to put it on you, in this case, he just gave you what you asked for.

We are to bring glory to God in our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Sickness does not come from God. He lives in heaven, there is no sickness in heaven. So He doesn't have any sickness available to put on you.
Genesis 1:26-31 Satan is the author of sickness, health was natural before sin entered the world.

Romans 5:12-21 Death entered thru sin. Sickness is death in seed form.

Luke 13:16 Jesus said, that sickness comes from Satan.

John 10:10 Jesus said, that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.

a. sickness steals the word.

b. sickness steals time.

c. sickness steals money.

d. sickness kills.

e. sickness destroys.

f. sickness is designed by Satan to steal the word from you, and thus make you self-centered instead of God centered. James 1:17 Every good gift is from above, sickness is not good.

Exodus 23:25 "and you shall serve the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

Deuteronomy 7:15 "and the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none (Hebrew, permit none) of the evil disease of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay (allow) them UPON THEM THAT HATE THEE."

As long as the children of Israel obeyed God's word, they walked in health. NOTICE that those who hate God's people are subject to all manner of disease. To hate God's people is the same as hating God. Psalm 105:3-7 "He brought them forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes." People who were slaves (estimated 3 million) came out of dire circumstances, yet not one was feeble, not a single sniffle amongst them.

Under the new covenant we have better promises than under the old. This statement should bring shouts of praise, are you awake? did you get that?

Hebrews 7:22 Jesus became our guarantee, our surety, of a more advantageous covenant.

The Greek word for surety, means one who pledges his name, influence and property in order to undertake for another, who is lacking in ability to discharge his own obligations. The surety is the sponsor of another, standing in the place of one who is unable to act in his or her own behalf.

Old Testament example. Judah said to his Father send the lad with me, and I will bring him back or bear the blame forever. (This was not a light matter in those days of a life for a life.)

New Testament example. Paul said of Onesimus, "If he has wronged thee, put it on my account, I will repay." He guaranteed Onesimus, with himself.

Adam had a covenant with great advantages, but no surety. It failed.

Israel had a covenant with a high priest as surety. It failed.

We have a covenant that is ordered and sure, for it's help is laid on one who is mighty, who changes not. One who has been given the power to help.

Jesus agreed to undertake for you. All of your debts, He agreed to pay, He satisfied God the Father concerning you. You belong to Him. Satan has no right to inflict illness upon you.

Acts 10:38 When Jesus came He went about releasing all those who were oppressed of the devil. Not God. Oppression comes from the devil.......release comes from God.

John 10:10 Jesus said, "I am come that YOU might (He didn't say I am forcing it on you, He said you might. That's giving you the option, but you must take it.) have life and have it more abundantly."  What's your definition of life?

Math 9:35 Jesus went about teaching, preaching and healing. If sickness came from God, why would He do that?

3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers."  What is your definition of health? You can have that as your soul prospers.

You must understand that you are a spirit, you have a soul (that's the mind or intellect, emotions and will) and you live in a body. When your soul, (the mind, intellect, emotions and will) are renewed by the word of will know that you are whole. When you are born again, it is your spirit that gets born again. Your mind (or soul) must be renewed. If we do not have knowledge of the word, we will perish or be led away captive at the enemies will.

Satan who is a deceiver manages to convince us that he isn't really real. After all who could believe that a silly looking little fellow in a red suit with a pitchfork could have much power. So we think .it must be that God is trying to teach me something or He is punishing me for the bad attitude I have......I feel like I deserve to be punished. So it must of been God who made me sick.

If that were so......then you ought to just accept it......shame on you for sneaking around behind God's back. Running off to the doctor for medicine to make you well. If God is teaching you something by making you ill, you shouldn't seek help to regain your health.

Why would Jesus heal in opposition to the Fathers will? Well, my suffering glorifies God. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It is healing that glorifies God. Jesus healed all who came to Him. Malachi 3:6 Hebrews 13:8 Romans 2:11 Jesus never changes and does not respect one person above another. He is the great I AM.

Healing was provided in the atonement of Christ. Isaiah 53:3-5 Sorrows in the original Hebrew ...Makob = pains. Griefs in the original Hebrew...Choli = disease or sickness. So verse 4 should read, "surely He has borne our sickness and carried our pain." Matthew 8:17 a quote from Isaiah 53:4

1 Peter 2:24 Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you WERE (past tense) healed.

Galatians 3:13 Sin and sickness both came from the same source, Satan.  Jesus' sacrifice on the cross took care of both of them. It is true that some are not healed. It is also true that some are not saved. Matthew 9:5 Psalm 103:1-3
sin forgiven, sickness healed.

Matthew 9:1-8 God is opposed to sickness as much as He is to fear and sin. Okay, I'll admit that the Lord is able to heal, but will He heal me?

Matthew 8:2-3 "I will, be thou clean." What He did for one, He will do for another. He changes not, He is the same. I am the other.

God hates sin, sickness, poverty. He wants you well. He desires to meet you at whatever level of faith you have reached. Healing faith has 3 levels, I call them good, better, and best.

Good, find a reliable medical man and facility, pray and take treatment.

Better, be prayed for, receive healing.

Best, refuse to be sick.

Just as we do not have to accept the opportunity to sin that presents it's self.....we can also refuse to accept the symptoms (opportunity) to be sick.  Psalm 30:5 says, "He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him."

How the opportunity comes. Body feels ache, maybe upset stomach. We wonder what it is. Satan whispers the suggestion. Maybe its bubonic plague. You say, don't be ridiculous. He says how about flu? You say, Yeah, that what I've got. And sure enough you do.

2 Peter 1:2 the way to stay healthy, is be a partaker of the divine nature. It is by the promises that you become a partaker.

There are some things that you need to know, if you need healing:

1. You need to know that He is willing as well as able.
2. That He heals today, He is the great I am, not the I was or the I will be.
3. God heals because He loves you. John 16:27. It is His nature, Jesus the     express image of the Father had compassion on all the sick Matthew 14:14
4. Healing is in the atonement Isaiah 53:4
5. Healing is the childrens bread Matthew 7:27
6. God is not a respecter of persons. Romans 2:11 healing is for the Gentile as well as the Jew. Acts 10:3-4
7. He does not change. Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6 you need to know that God moves in response to repentance and faith in His word. Where does faith come from? From hearing. When you hear the word and receive it. You are given a measure of faith. It is this gift from God that gives you faith to be born again Ephesians 2:8-9

Where is it? Romans 10:9-11 in order to release your faith you must speak it and act on it. You receive healing the same way that you receive salvation.

Where does faith for healing come from? Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing and by hearing and by hearing ....and hearing by the word of God.

Proverbs 4:20-23 take the word as you would a medicine (regular basis, rx reads take at 8am, 12noon, 4P.M., 8P.M., 12midnight etc. there is continuity) or else the anti-biotic will not work. There is no danger of overdosing on the word.

God's methods of healing vary.

It is possible to release your faith for a particular method of healing. However, do not try to limit God. "If I can just touch the hem of His garment (woman in crowd) or just speak the word and healing will manifest at my home." (Centurion)

A list of methods, from the word:

1. Demand in the name of Jesus that sickness leave your body.  When you speak to Jesus, you ask.  When you speak to Satan you may demand.
John 16:23-27

You need to understand that you have authority to do so. James 4:7 Also you need a clear understanding of the full meaning of the name of Jesus. Psalm 91 says that Because you know my name, long life will be granted. The names of God were and are revelations that are seen fully in Jesus. Jesus inherited His name, had it was bestowed on Him and won it as the spoils of a victory.
Isaiah 52:6

2. Laying on hands. Mark 16 and Hebrews 6:2

3. Anoint with oil. James 5:14

4. Prayer of agreement. Matthew 18:19

5. Taking the word as medicine. Proverbs 4:20

6. Binding and loosing. Matthew 16:19

7. Deliverance (cast out devils) Mark 16:17

8. Communion (for those who are taught) 1 Corinthians 11:27-30 and
Mark 11:24

9. Joy (ha-ha-ha-lol) a merry heart doeth good like a medicine

Faith needs an appointment. Decide to meet. Set a time and place. Ask the Holy Spirit to quicken a method to you. Begin to visualize your healing. Release faith at the appointed time.

Faith is not a feeling or some thing you see. Sometimes I don't feel saved or look like I think someone should look that is saved. Now and then I don't even act like I'm saved (ask my husband, He'll tell you). Nevertheless, I am saved. For my salvation is based on the word of God.

Faith calls those things that be not, as though they already were. Romans 4:17

Some are healed instantly.......some are healed as they go.....and some are healed gradually.

I once heard a testimony about a man who was dying in a hospital. Friends asked a minister to call on him and pray for him. The minister said, "things could not have been worse, there were tubes going every where, people running in and out. He was expected to go at any moment. It looked hopeless to me, but never the less I spoke softly to the man on the bed and said, "Jesus came to set you free and heal you. He is the light, you donít have to lay there and die." Nothing changed. Then I left, thinking that was the end of that. Two months later there was a knock on the door. When I opened the door I saw a strange man standing there. The man said to me, "you donít recognize me, do you?" when I admitted that I did not he said, "you visited me in the hospital and told me Jesus is the light and I didnít have to lay there and die. Later that night a bright light came into my room, and I remembered what you said, and believed it."

Jesus cursed the roots of the tree....but it was the next day when the tree showed the result.

It is God's will for you to be healed. If it was God's will for you to be sick, Satan would heal you. He always moves in direct opposition to God's will.

Check list before you receive personal ministry:

1. Get rid of all known sin, clear your channel of blessing. 1 John 1:9. John 15:7 Proverbs 3:1-8

2. Forgive others. Mark 11:25 Forgive by faith, forgiving is not a feeling, it is always an act of the will. Write it down, date it. This day, I forgive and release----------. Sign it. Read it to remind yourself that you did. Bless them. Beware of hidden resentments, they frequently rise to the surface as an illness. A broken spirit dries the bones.

3. Locate a scripture to stand on, be able to say, it is written. Faith agrees with Godís word, even when things look bad. To say it is written to the enemy is the #1 way to whip him. Use examples from the list at the end of this study.

4. Visualize yourself healed, get a picture of you healthy, look at it, a lot.  Plan what you will do after you are healed.

5. Mark 5:27-29 The woman with issue of blood. You must prepare to act. This woman heard, she said and she acted. When she touched, she received. Be prepared to do something that you could not do before. Kenneth Hagin talked about how he got out of bed and dressed, with great effort.

Things to remember as you are ministered to:

1. Expect something to happen. If I can touch, I will be made whole.

2. State your request, you need to know what you want and speak it. Remember Bartimaeus, Jesus asked him what he wanted, he had to say it. Isaiah 43:25-26 says state your case so that you might be justified.

3. Be still and know, that God is God. You need to be still so you can concentrate on releasing your faith when you are prayed for. Whatever you desire, believe that it is yours when you pray, and it will be granted to you Mark 11:25

A minister who was visiting our church (Sister Hooky) told of visiting a Canadian missionary. While she was there, the missionaryís little girl needed white shoes and a white dress for a school program. The family had no money, and no expectation of any. When told that they could not afford to buy these articles, the little girl prayed, and then declared, God will take care of it.

As the day of the program approached, and the circumstances had not changed, Mom said, "perhaps we should speak to principal." But her daughter said, no, because God had promised to send her a dress. When Mom asked how do you know that? She replied, because I read in the Bible where God told me not to worry about what to wear. ( Matthew 6).

The last day before the program, a package arrived. Sister Hooky's thoughts were Oh God, if that's not a dress, create one. If it is please let it fit.

There was a note in the box that said, "passed a window and thought how pretty your daughter would look in this outfit, so on impulse purchased it. Hope it fits." New shoes , new undies, new dress, new sox, all white, all the right size. When you pray for your healing, or some one else does, you must believe.

4. When you receive, thank God. With the heart you believe, with the mouth you confess. Romans 10:10 Notice that it does not mention eyes. Believe God's word. Every Friday my husband comes home and says "I made a deposit to the checking account." I never see this money, the bank doesn't call and tell me that it is there. I don't call someone and say, my husband said that he made a deposit to my account, do you think he really did. I just take him at his word and then I begin to act on his word. I get out the check book and start writing checks. Sometimes I already have the checks made out ready to go. Because his word is trust worthy, I believe him, so I act. Do you think that God's word is at least as good as my husbands? The bible is full of good things that have been deposited to your account. Start acting on it.

All the promises of God are yes, in Jesus. You receive your healing by faith, and you keep it the same way. Matthew 12:43-45, fill up on the word. Luke 11:21 be strong. Resist symptoms James 4:7 observe symptoms and you will forsake your mercy.  KJ Version says lying vanities, lying vanities are symptoms.

Ephesians 6:10 put on the armor of God ever day. You mean I have to keep on doing this forever. Do you leave the house without clothing? Will you have to go on dressing everyday, forever?

Revelation 12:11 they overcame by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. To keep your healing, watch your mouth. Proverbs 10:12, 12:18, 13:3, 15:4, 16:24, 18:21 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life. the tongue of the wise is health...Keep your mouth and thus your life...A wholesome tongue is a tree of life....Pleasant words are health to the bones.

If you desire life, and love many good days, keep your tongue from evil. Psalms 34:13-14...1Peter 3:10-11...James 3 Many plagues were brought on the Israelites because of their words.

They grumbled and complained about their devoured them. Numbers 11:1-3

They listened to rabble, that's ungodly counsel, then wept and said wish we had the same food we had in Egypt. Meat, Meat, Meat....request granted, but they died as it touched their lips. Numbers 11:4-10

Twice they mumbled against Gods chosen leaders Numbers 12:1-16 and Numbers 16:1-50

They spoke of the problems (giants) instead of saying, with God, we are well able, which was the answer. (God's Promise) Numbers 13:16-33 Numbers 14:1-37

They said wish we were dead, verse 2 of Numbers 14....they were given what they spoke in verse 28. What you say is what you get, so declare that this affliction shall not return a second time.

If a symptom returns, do not say well I guess I've got it again. You must think the word (cogitate), speak the word, and then do the word.

John 5:14 and 8:11 Sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you.

So observe the law of God and take care of the temple, your body.
