Better than the Blood of
Bulls What does God want? He wants us to have a good confession. Why? Because our words shape our lives and the lives of others. Our words create our personal worlds. God set up the whole system. He put power in words. We are born again by our confession. With the heart we believe and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, Romans 10:9-10. There is power in our mouths. Matthew 12:35 "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil things."
Amplified version says that we fling forth (from our mouths) good or evil.
Matthew 12:36-37 "But I say to you, That every idle word that men speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned. " A man is snared by the words of his mouth. Proverbs 6:2 If we've been snared, if there is a trap around our ankles, if we have been held fast from going where we want to go, we need to get hold of our confession. Then dig up the crop of negative seeds that have been planted. We have been given the power of binding and loosing, we need to use it. James writes, the tongue is a fire of wickedness and no man can tame it. The good news is, the Holy Spirit can. It is the established rule of God that we have a good confession Proverbs 16:23-24 "The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." What are pleasant words? They are the confession of the goodness of God. Sweet to the mind. Pleasant words affect your mind and your mind affects your body. Ask any doctor, it has been estimated that 80% or more of all the people in the hospitals are there because they have thought and spoken their way there. But pleasant words, God's words, are health and healing to our bodies. Proverbs 18:20-21 "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and from the produce of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." The tongue holds the power of life and death, that is true both in the physical and spiritual. If we confess death, that is what we will get. We can literally speak it into existence. My grandmother used to say, "I'll never make it to my 65th birthday. She didn't, she died 7 days before her 65th birthday. She shaped her world with her words. A centurion once said to Jesus, speak the word and my son will be healed, and he got what he said. A woman once said, if I can touch the hem of His garment, and she received what she said. We need to put a guard on our mouths and make sure we are speaking words of life and not death. When we are born again three things change. Our spirits, our speech and then our behavior. Our spirits change instantly, our speech and behavior change as we grow in grace. We grow in grace as we think, and speak the word. What we see and hear the most, we will think about. What we think about will eventually come out of our mouths. 2 Corinthians 4:13 "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;" Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, Out of your heart the springs of life flow. Proverbs 4:23 My heart overflows with a Godly theme. Proverbs 45:1 Faith for anything we receive, is released through the words we speak. If we would have faith for goodness, then we must fill our hearts with good things and then speak them. What are good words? Good words are confessions of faith in the goodness of God. Proverbs 12:25 "Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop: but a good word makes it glad." We can help to shape the day of others by saying good words. When we make the heart of another person glad by saying good words, we make two people happy. One them will be us. Happiness is a great bonus for obeying His established rules. We must determine never to let unwholesome or worthless talk come out of our mouths. Ephesians 4:29 amp. Instead of saying "I'm always a day late and a dollar short." We should confess, by the grace of God, we are always in the right place at the right time, to receive the blessings of God. Instead of saying "Every flu bug or cold that comes around I catch it." We should confess God's word declares no plague shall come nigh our dwelling. At our house we have started to declare that germs die when they touch our bodies. Does it rain when you are on vacation? When I get ready to go to the beach, the sun comes out. I frequently confess that everywhere I go sunshine follows me. My husband always parks near the entrance of the place where he is going. He expects to. He declares it and it comes to pass. |

Suppose next week, the company you work for says to you, "We are giving you notice. Your work is excellent and we shall be glad to give you a favorable reference. However, our budget will not allow us to retain you on our payroll past the first of the month." If you have been thinking the word, speaking the word and doing the word concerning the little things, your immediate reaction will be. I HAVE SET MY LOVE ON HIM. I KNOW AND UNDERSTAND HIS NAME. HIS PRAISES ARE IN MY MOUTH. EMPLOYMENT!!!! YOU ARE NOT MY SUPPLY. GOD IS MY PROVIDER. I WILL NOT FEAR. DEVIL, I BIND YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
He wants us to have a good confession, our speech always seasoned with salt and creating a good atmosphere for us to live in. Next: Lesson Eighteen |
