Better than the Blood of
Bulls and Goats

FROM THE CROSS TO THE RAPTURE

(Our part in the New Covenant)

FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM
LESSON  ELEVEN

What does God want?  He wants us to fellowship with Him. We are to talk to Him (prayer and praise). This is not an option. If we check out a Bible concordance, we will find that prayer and praise are the predominate themes of the Bible. There are far more scriptures concerning prayer and praise than there are concerning forgiveness.

He wants us to commune with Him. There are so many things to talk to Him about. How glad we are to be His and how we would like everyone to know Him. Lord, we appreciate the conveniences of modern life, electric power, running water and perm-press. Lord, bless and keep that man standing on the corner. Father, the car keys are missing, help me. When we hear of war, we can talk to Him concerning the people caught in it, and breathe a word of thanks for peace in our land. Nothing is to small or to big, He enjoys our company. We are a blessed people, we shouldn't take it for granted.

Consider these. Caleb's daughter asked for a field and a upper spring of water. She received both, AND THE LOWER SPRING, even though she did not ask for the latter. Joshua 15:18. God does exceedingly and abundantly above what we ask or think. Be a big thinker and then ask. Ephesians 3:20

God said to Solomon, "Ask what I shall give thee" 1 Kings 3:5

Jesus said, "Ask and it shall be given you" Matthew 7:7

Want to know if you are headed in the right direction? "Ask counsel of God that we may know whether our journey will be successful." Judges 18:5

He wants us to have an attitude of prayer, praise and thanksgiving in all things.

Psalms 34:1 "...I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth."

For the most part, we have read this verse as saying. "I will bless the Lord once in awhile, now and then, occasionally, when I feel like it, when I get blessed, when I am happy, then His praise will be in my mouth."

The correct version of the scripture says "I will." We must make the determination to praise. This determination is not to be based upon how we feel or what the circumstances of our lives are at the moment. When we determine to keep the praises of God in our mouths, at all times, the enemy loses and circumstances change.

Praise in our mouths is good, but praise in our mouths with out praise in our lives, will do us no good.

Psalms 34:2 AMP "My life makes its boast in the LORD: the humble and afflicted hear <thereof>, and are glad."

Our lives are to make their boast in the Lord, for "praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright in heart." Psalm 33:1. Singing "we bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord" will avail little, if we are not upright in heart. If we are in open rebellion in other areas of the will of God, we must first repent and then praise. God has called us to a life of obedience, and He won't settled for less.

Repentance, then a CONTINUAL application of the word and praise will restore us to the place where God's blessing can be poured out in our lives. If we have ever had a virus and gone to the Doctor, we were probably given a prescription for an antibiotic.  The purpose of the antibiotic is to combat the forces of evil that have invaded our bodies. The container that holds the antibiotic will say, take one at 8 a.m. one at 12 noon, one at 4 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. Sometimes it will even direct us to rise at night to take more of the medicine. The reason for this, is there must be a CONTINUOUS flow of the medication into our bodies in order to annihilate the enemy. That is also the way the word and praise must be applied to our lives. CONTINUOUSLY.

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine."  What if we don't have merry hearts? Then we must repent, for lack of faith in the goodness of God, apply the word, and put praise in our mouths, until we do have a merry heart. Set our wills to it. Determine our words will praise Him who is worthy of all praise, even if we do not feel like it. When we do this, we will soon FEEL like praising Him. It is part of the standard instructions that we praise Him, all of the time, (all of the time, all of the time, all of the time) and His commandments are not grievous.
